CHILDREN'S MINISTRY COORDINATOR
Reports to: Associate Pastor
Part-Time: 15hrs/week, non-exempt
Position Summary
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator creates safe, welcoming, biblically grounded, and developmentally appropriate environments for children from birth through fifth grade and their families. This position oversees Sunday and summer programming, family ministry gatherings, seasonal events, curriculum, volunteers, parent communication, and ministry administration.
Vision: We partner with families in raising children who know and love God and all creation through understanding scripture and experiencing true belonging.
Responsibilities
Programming and Faith Formation
Oversee Sunday discipleship for children from birth through fifth grade, ensuring classrooms are prepared and staffed.
Welcome new families and invite them to our children’s program.
Plan mid-week gatherings and summer programming like Super Sunday Squad or VBS.
Coordinate special events (i.e. Back to School Sunday, Christmas and Easter activities, Children’s Choir, etc.).
Collaborate with Staff and volunteers on community outreach events or partnerships.
Volunteer Leadership
Recruit, schedule, train, and support volunteers.
Conduct training and check-ins 1-2 times a year on curriculum, classroom expectations, child safety, and ministry practices.
Ensure volunteers follow NECC’s Child Protection and Emergency Guidelines and help maintain current background checks and safety records.
Work with the Children’s Ministry Team and staff to identify needs, plan events, and establish family discipleship goals.
Communication and Administration
Communicate regularly with families, volunteers, staff, and the congregation through email, social media, bulletins, newsletters, the church website, and personal follow-up.
Manage the annual Children’s Ministry budget.
Maintain accurate attendance, contact, volunteer, and safety records.
Submit monthly reports to the Executive Board and annual reports to the congregation as needed.
Participate in staff meetings and committees as directed.
Participate in ECC trainings, resources, and/or conferences.
Qualifications and Expectations
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christ-centered living.
A clear calling and demonstrated love for children, families, and the local church.
Willingness to become an active member of NECC, participate in church life, remain in good standing, and maintain transparent relationships with staff and the Executive Board.
Acceptance and support of the Evangelical Covenant Church’s core affirmations, guidelines, and resolutions.
Adherence to NECC’s personnel, child protection, emergency, and safety policies.
A bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent relevant experience in children’s ministry, family ministry, Christian education, teaching, discipleship, or a related area.
Strong organization skills, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Initiative and demonstrated ability to plan, implement, complete projects, and to recruit, train, schedule, and care for volunteers.
Select and implement a biblically faithful, developmentally appropriate curriculum; prepare lesson materials, and maintain resources.
Comfort using Breeze, Microsoft Office Software, Mailchimp, Canva, and similar tools.
Compensation
$18-$22 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and proficiency. This is a part-time position, averaging 15 hours per week. The position includes the potential possibility for hours to increase if additional services are added, ministries work expands, or increased scope of responsibilities are added.

DIRECTOR OF MUSICAL WORSHIP
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Part-time: 12-15 hours/week
Position Summary
The Director of Worship provides leadership, vision, and coordination for musical worship at NECC. This person works collaboratively with pastoral staff and volunteer musicians to cultivate worship gatherings that are spiritually meaningful, musically engaging, and aligned with the mission and theology of the church. A significant function of this role is the development of an intergenerational worship team through the mentorship and coaching of musicians and vocalists of all ages.

Responsibilities
Musical Worship Leading and Planning
Plan and lead musical worship for weekly worship services
Partner with pastoral staff to align music with service/sermon themes and provide input on other elements of the Sunday service (i.e. preaching, congregational prayer, testimonies, etc)
Select songs that reflect the NECC’s theological convictions and generational/cultural diversity
Lead weekly rehearsals and coordinate all musical elements for worship gatherings
Provide leadership for special services throughout the year (e.g., Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, baptisms, hymn sings, choir, etc.)
Musician/Volunteer Development
Recruit, develop, schedule, and support volunteer musicians and vocalists
Provide coaching and encouragement to volunteer musicians that will enable them to grow both musically and spiritually
Facilitate regular communication with worship team members as well as worship Ministry Group Director(s)
Provide oversight and mentorship for the youth worship team
Administrative Responsibilities
Attend weekly staff meeting OR connect on a regular basis with the lead pastor to collaborate on worship service planning
Coordinate with sound, media, and production volunteers as needed
Maintain song libraries, planning systems, and worship resources
Create regular team-building opportunities for members of the worship team
Qualifications and Expectations
Demonstrated ability to lead congregational worship
Able to communicate clearly and consistently
Strong musical competency, including the ability to direct others
Possess a desire to lead an intergenerational worship team and provide mentorship to younger musicians
Willingness to lead songs that reflect the multicultural and intergenerational makeup of NECC and the wider the body of Christ
Experience with worship planning software (Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.).
A commitment to the vision of NECC and the 6 affirmations of the Evangelical Covenant Church
Willingness to become an active member of NECC, participate in church life, remain in good standing, and maintain transparent relationships with staff and the Executive Board

Sunday pre-service rehearsal: 2 hours
Sunday worship service: 2 hours

Compensation
$300-400 per week
